he was not "the one"

My boyfriend of nearly eight years, who in the third week of September talked about big diamonds and proposing before Christmas, broke up with me in a phone call the second week of October.  I will continue with this blog because I believe in love and have great hope for the future.  I could not let this time in my life pass without mentioning it here as it was a combination of my love of crafting along with pending nuptials that inspired me to create this site.

I found two crafty ex-boyfriend inspired etsy items - a Ex-boyfriend Voodoo Doll Pin Cushion and a You are Incredible Noncommittal jerk handmade card.

Even though this post is *not* about a wedding, it *is* about relationships and not all of them work out the way we plan.

Martha Stewart's line of wedding craft projects at Wal-Mart made a seriously excellent impression on this crafty wedding chick.  Whether a person purchases multiple sets or just one and then DIYs the rest from assorted materials, the tissue paper flowers will add the right touch of whimsy and charm to your special event.

In addition to making fantastic centerpieces, the tissue paper flowers could be gifted to your guests as favors or reminders of your special day.

Gather your supplies and call up your bridesmaids for a whirlwind evening of flower making sprinkled with memories of elementary school art class!

Deliciously Inexpensive

A few days ago, I uploaded this image of a sign I saw at Wal-Mart advertising the low prices for their Filled Sheet Cakes.

Now, I haven't purchased a filled sheet cake from this particular Wal-Mart though I have bought their cupcakes, which were quite delicious,

I have purchased cakes from Sam's Club at various locations in both Texas and Georgia with equally fantastic results.

My past experience with cakes and cupcakes from both Wal-Mart and Sam's Club enable me to highly recommend these deliciously inexpensive items without pause.

Additionally, I have only ordered/purchased/eaten their cakes and cupcakes with buttercream icing and have not tried the whipped cream frosting selections.

Whether you choose to purchase from Wal-Mart (or Sam's Club) for your wedding cake or groom's cake, I am sure that you and your guests will be happy with your choice.

If you prefer to go with a bit fancier concoction, both Wal-Mart and Sam's Club might be able to accommodate as well.

Stop by their bakery/dessert counter the next time you go in to pick up groceries or a last minute birthday gift or just to walk around and people watch. ;-)

Welcome to my Crafty DIY Wedding site.

I created another spot on Blogger yesterday that mirrors this site in most ways but definitely not all.  I intend to cross-post information between these (non-identical) twin sister sites and feature some information on this TypePad blog with the Blogger blog showcasing other data.
